The following fees and policies apply to piano lessons. Individual teacher rates may vary slightly, so please check with each instructor. Special group and school rates are also available. Feel free to contact Dr. John Roothaan, director, or call (312) 515-0483 with any questions you may have.
PIANO LESSONS 30 minute lesson $30.00, payable in sets of four lessons ($120.00) 45 minute lesson $42.50, payable in sets of four lessons ($170.00) 60 minute lesson $55.00, payable in sets of four lessons ($220.00)
For very young students, two students may arrange to split the 30 minute lesson. There is a $5.00 discount for two or more students in the same home.
The above prices are for lessons in your home in the Chicago/North Shore area.
BOOKS Beginner and intermediate books cost about $6.00 to $8.00 each (usually 2 to 4 books per year). Some jazz books and other advanced material may be in the $10.00 to $20.00 range.
CANCELLATIONS It's
important that lessons are regular, so we ask that you maintain a
weekly schedule if at all possible. However, if you must cancel,
please give the instructor at least 48 hours notice, and the instructor
will reschedule your lesson. If you MUST cancel due to illness or
other emergency, we can also reschedule, but we count on our clients
not to abuse this policy. If you are not available for your scheduled
lesson and fail to properly notify the instructor, you will be charged
for that lesson.
OBSERVING LESSONS Parents of young students are always welcome to observe lessons, and see what their children are working on.
